About

Bootleg River Camp offers a secluded riverside camping experience on the north bank of the Green River within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Situated 8.42 miles downstream from Flaming Gorge Dam and 1.22 miles below Little Hole, this primitive site is accessible only by floating downriver from the Spillway or Little Hole boat ramps, or by hiking in from Little Hole. The campsite features one picnic table, one fire ring, two tent pads, two benches, and a portable toilet screen with natural shade. All campers are required to carry a portable toilet system as there are no restroom facilities. No potable water is available, and all garbage must be packed out. Registration must be completed on the day of use at the Little Hole Camp Registration Board. This is part of the Green River float-in campsite system, which requires boaters to carry required safety equipment including a bail bucket, throw line, extra oar, and life jackets. Motors are not permitted on this section of the river. A Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area Recreational Use Pass is required in addition to camping fees.
