About

Dripping Springs Campground is situated at 6,000 feet elevation in rolling high desert terrain within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area on the Ashley National Forest. The landscape is characterized by sagebrush-covered hills dotted with Russian olive trees and cottonwoods, offering scenic views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains. Shade is limited throughout the campground, with warm days and cool nights typical of the area. Campers frequent Dripping Springs for its proximity to exceptional outdoor recreation opportunities. The nearby Green River offers world-class fishing for rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout, with Little Hole Boat Launch and Day-Use Area providing convenient river access. The 7-mile Little Hole National Recreation Trail begins near the campground, meandering along the Green River from Flaming Gorge Dam and suitable for hiking or mountain biking in segments or as a complete journey. Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area surrounds the campground with opportunities for boating, rafting, water skiing, kayaking, swimming, and scuba diving on the reservoir. The iconic red cliffs of the area create dramatic scenery. Flaming Gorge Dam, located nearby, offers guided tours of the hydroelectric plant, and visitor centers provide area history exhibits. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring this diverse recreation area.
