About
Dripping Springs Campground is situated in the rolling, sagebrush-covered landscape of the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area within the Ashley National Forest. At 6,000 feet elevation, the campground offers scenic reservoir and mountain views from nearly every site. Russian olive trees and cottonwoods provide limited shade, while temperatures range from warm days to cool nights. The campground features 22 single-family sites and 4 group sites, all equipped with shelters, picnic tables, and fire rings. Flush toilets are available, and drinking water is typically provided from mid-late May through mid-September. No hookups or dump station are on-site, though a dump station is available at Deer Run Campground about 8 miles away. Showers can be accessed at nearby Deer Run and Mustang Ridge campgrounds with proof of camping registration. Dripping Springs is prized for its proximity to the Green River and Little Hole Boat Launch, offering exceptional rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout fishing. The 7-mile Little Hole National Recreation Trail begins nearby, following the Green River from Flaming Gorge Dam. Guided tours of the working Flaming Gorge Dam and its visitor center are also available.
