About
Stonefly II River Camp sits in a scenic stretch of the Green River canyon within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, 8.2 miles downstream from the dam and 1.0 mile below Little Hole. The site is surrounded by pinyon pine, juniper, sagebrush, and Ponderosa pine along with river bottom vegetation. Access requires either hiking in from Little Hole or floating down by boat from the Spillway or Little Hole boat ramps. This primitive campsite is designed for tent camping only and accommodates 6-8 people. Site amenities include one picnic table, one fire ring, two tent pads, one bench, and a portable toilet screen. There are no restrooms or potable water at this location. All campers are required to bring a portable toilet system and pack out all garbage. The site operates first-come, first-served year-round, with same-day registration required at the Camp Registration Board at Little Hole. Standard camping fees are $13 per night, with reduced winter rates of $5 per night from October 1 through March 31. A Flaming Gorge Recreational Use Pass is also required.
Directions
Access by hiking in from Little Hole or by boat from the Spillway or Little Hole boat ramps. The site is located 8.2 miles below Flaming Gorge Dam on the north side of the Green River, 1.0 mile downstream from Little Hole.
