Cats Paw River Camp is one of 17 float-in campsites along the Green River within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Located on the north side of the river about 1.3 miles downstream from Little Hole Boat Ramp, this site can be reached by boat or on foot. The high desert environment features shady junipers, cottonwoods, Ponderosa pines, and summer wildflowers. The campsite is equipped with a 10x10 tent pad, picnic table, fire ring with benches, and a privacy blind for portable toilet use. All campers are required to bring their own portable toilet system. No potable water is available, and there are no garbage facilities, so campers must pack out all trash. Vault toilets are located at nearby Cottonwood Camp and Red Creek Camp. Reservations can be made through Recreation.gov. Check-in is at 2:00 PM and check-out is at 1:00 PM. A Recreational Use Pass is required for the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area.

Directions

From Vernal, UT, take US Highway 191 north 45 miles. Cross the Flaming Gorge Dam and turn right on the road leading to Spillway Boat Ramp, or continue 7 miles downstream to Little Hole Boat Ramp via Forest Road 075. The campsite is 1.3 miles downstream from Little Hole on the north side of the river, accessible by boat or foot.
