About
The Green River Float-In Campsites provide a backcountry river camping experience in Section B of the Green River, stretching from Little Hole to Browns Park within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. This 17-site system caters to float-in visitors seeking solitude and quality fishing on one of the West's premier trout streams. The remote access keeps crowds low while healthy brown trout populations thrive in these waters. Most sites require floating in by raft, kayak, or canoe, though several (including Stonefly I & II, Sand, Bootleg, Cats Paw, Cottonwood, and Trails End) can be reached on foot via an unofficial trail. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring with benches, and tent pads. Vault toilets are located near the Cottonwood and Red Creek camps. The Forest Service requires all campers to bring and use portable toilet systems. No potable water is available at any site; campers must pack in all drinking water. Boaters must carry a bail bucket, throw line, and extra oar, and life jackets are required while on the water. Motors are prohibited. A Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area Recreational Use Pass is required in addition to camping reservations made through Recreation.gov.
