Closure of Fishing on Concrete Boat Ramps withing Flaming Gorge Reservoir

Ashley National Forest Order 050115A1 regarding:  Closure of Fishing from Concrete Boat Ramps on Flaming Gorge Reservoir

About

Big Pine I River Camp offers a secluded riverside camping experience on the Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam in northeastern Utah. The site sits on the north bank amid pinyon pine, juniper, and ponderosa pine, with river bottom vegetation providing natural shade. Access is exclusively by non-motorized watercraft, launching from either Spillway Boat Ramp (10.5 miles upstream) or Little Hole Boat Ramp (3.3 miles downstream). The single campsite accommodates up to 8 people and includes one picnic table, one fire ring with two benches, and two tent pads. A privacy screen is provided for portable toilet use, which is mandatory for all campers. No potable water is available, and there are no garbage facilities, so pack-in/pack-out rules apply. The area is popular for fly fishing and float trips on the Green River's trophy trout waters. Standard overnight fees are $13 per night, with reduced winter rates of $5 per night from October 1 through March 31. A Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area Recreational Use Pass is also required. Reservations can be made through Recreation.gov.

Directions

From Vernal, UT, take US Highway 191 north 45 miles. Cross Flaming Gorge Dam and turn right to access Spillway Boat Ramp for the upper launch. For Little Hole, cross the dam and continue to Dutch John, then turn right onto Little Hole Road (Forest Road 075) and drive about 6 miles. Big Pine I is located 10.5 miles below Spillway or 3.3 miles below Little Hole on river left.
