About
North Arm Campground sits tucked away on the north shore of Timothy Lake in Mount Hood National Forest, offering a more secluded alternative to the larger campgrounds on the lake's south side. The campground provides 12 standard campsites suitable for tents and RVs up to 35 feet, plus 4 hike-to sites for those seeking a more primitive experience. Each standard site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets and hand-pumped potable water available. Timothy Lake is a popular recreation destination with excellent fishing for kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, brook trout, and crayfish. The campground features an improved boat launch and dock, though motorized boats are restricted to 10 mph on the lake. Swimming and windsurfing are popular activities during summer months. The Timothy Lake Trail provides access to the 13-mile loop around the lake, connecting to other trails in the area. The campground is operated by PGE Parks and reservations are available through Recreation.gov. Standard sites accommodate up to 6 people, while hike-to sites allow up to 4. Generator use is restricted to 8 AM to 8 PM. The gravel access roads can be dusty during dry conditions.
