About

Meditation Point Campground offers a secluded camping experience on the northwest shore of Timothy Lake in Mount Hood National Forest. This primitive campground consists of 7 rustic sites that can only be reached by hiking or biking 1.2 miles from the Myron Blank West Shore Day Use area, or by paddling across the lake. A day use permit or annual pass is required for parking at the trailhead. The campground's remote location and limited accessibility result in moderate usage, making it an appealing option for campers seeking solitude. Each of the seven sites is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring and can accommodate up to six campers. The campground has a vault toilet, though no potable water is available on-site, so campers must bring their own supply and be prepared to pack out all trash. Timothy Lake provides opportunities for fishing, non-motorized boating, and exploring the Timothy Lake Loop Trail. The lake has a 10 mph speed limit for motorized boats. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted, and sites cost $10 per night (cash or check only). Access is typically seasonal, with forest roads in the area generally closing around December 1 and remaining closed through March or April due to snow.
