About
Hoodview Campground occupies a scenic spot on the southeastern shore of 1,400-acre Timothy Lake at 3,400 feet elevation, roughly 28 miles from the base of Mt. Hood. The forest setting provides views of the surrounding Cascade peaks and direct lakeside access. The campground has both standard drive-in sites and walk-in sites for those seeking a quieter experience away from vehicles. All standard sites include a table and fire ring with grill. Vault toilets and drinking water from hand pumps are provided throughout the campground. Fourteen barrier-free sites and accessible restrooms accommodate campers with mobility needs. The boat launch is restricted to registered campers only, with a 10 mph motorized boat speed limit on the lake. The Timothy Lake Trail offers 12 miles of relatively level terrain looping around the lake, suitable for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Anglers target kokanee salmon and various trout species. The campground is reservable through Recreation.gov and operates seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through mid-September.
