About
Timber Creek Park sits on the shores of Milford Lake, the largest man-made lake in Kansas, offering visitors primitive camping in a natural setting with stunning sunsets and abundant outdoor recreation. The lake spans 15,700 acres with 163 miles of shoreline, fed by the Republican River. The campground provides basic facilities and serves as an ideal base for exploring the surrounding 33,000 acres of public land managed as the Milford State Wildlife Area.
The area is known for excellent fishing, particularly for blue catfish from the shoreline. Boaters can launch at nearby ramps to explore the expansive reservoir. Nearly 70% of the land resources around the lake are open for public hunting, making this a popular destination for waterfowl and upland game hunters. The park also offers opportunities for swimming, hiking, wildlife viewing, and biking.
Nearby attractions include the Milford State Park trail system with the Waterfall Trail and Crystal Trail, a wildlife viewing tower and trail, the Milford Education Center, and the Fish Hatchery below the dam. An off-road vehicle area is also available for ORV enthusiasts. The small town of Milford provides convenient access to supplies and services.
