About
School Creek Campground sits on the shores of Milford Lake, Kansas's largest man-made reservoir with 15,700 acres of surface area and 163 miles of shoreline. This primitive camping area is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and caters to outdoor enthusiasts seeking a rustic lakeside experience. All campsites are positioned along the lakeshore, providing direct access to fishing, boating, and water recreation.
The campground operates without modern amenities—there are no water or electric hookups at any site. Vault toilets are conveniently located near each camping loop. A boat ramp within the park provides easy lake access for anglers and boaters. One of the campground's unique features is its proximity to the School Creek ORV area, making it an ideal base camp for families and groups combining lake activities with off-road riding.
Milford Lake is fed by the Republican River and offers excellent opportunities for boating, birding, and fishing for multiple game species. The nearby Milford State Park features hiking trails including the Waterfall Trail and Crystal Trail, a wildlife viewing tower, and the Milford Education Center and Fish Hatchery located below the dam.
