About
Outlet Park is a day use area situated at Milford Lake, Kansas's largest reservoir with 15,700 acres of surface area and 163 miles of shoreline. Located just below the Milford Dam on the edge of the Kansas Flint Hills, the park offers one group shelter available for reservation equipped with vault toilet and grill facilities. Nearby amenities include a playground, horseshoe pit, and sand volleyball court. The park's prime attraction is its fishing access, featuring a fishing pier overlooking Outlet Pond, a popular fishing destination and wildlife attractor. The swimming beach provides water recreation opportunities during warmer months. The park also serves as a trailhead for the Riverwalk Trail, offering hiking and biking opportunities along the Republican River. Milford Lake is home to Kansas's third largest wetland and supports diverse wildlife populations, making Outlet Park an excellent location for wildlife observation. The nearby Milford Nature Center and Fish Hatchery, located below the dam, features live animal exhibits and educational displays about Kansas ecosystems. Junction City is approximately five miles away, providing additional services and amenities.
