About

Stockdale Campground sits on 188 acres along the western shores of Tuttle Creek Lake in northeast Kansas. The campground features 12 spacious campsites with water and 50-amp electric hookups located in a compact draw near the lake shore. Modern amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station. Two boat ramps provide easy lake access for anglers and boaters. Tuttle Creek Lake spans 10,900 acres of water and 20,000 acres of land in the northern Flint Hills, offering diverse recreational opportunities. The lake is known for excellent fishing for crappie and channel catfish, as well as boating and water skiing on calm days. Wildlife enthusiasts can spot bald eagles, white-tailed deer, Canada geese, and wild turkeys throughout the area. The surrounding landscape features characteristic Flint Hills terrain with flat-topped hills, long steep slopes, limestone outcrops, and well-defined stream channels. The campground is part of the larger Tuttle Creek recreation area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which includes 11 parks and a marina. Nearby attractions include Konza Prairie, Kansas State University, and Fort Riley. The lake's extensive trail system offers hiking, biking, and off-road vehicle opportunities, with nearly 2 million visitors enjoying the area each year.

Directions

From the intersection of US-24 and K-13 at the west end of the dam, travel west on US-24/Tuttle Creek Blvd for 5 miles. Turn right on Riley County Road 895 and continue for 2 miles. Turn right again on Riley County Road 396/Stockdale Park Road and continue 2.5 miles to main campground.
