About
Three Creeks Meadow Campground is one of four camping facilities clustered around Three Creeks Lake in the Deschutes National Forest, approximately 15 miles south of Sisters, Oregon. The lake is a 28-acre alpine gem at 6,550 feet elevation, surrounded by old-growth forest in a glacial cirque below Tam McArthur Rim. The campground offers nine standard nonelectric sites suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs. Each site includes a picnic table and campfire ring with grill. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. The adjacent Three Creeks Meadow Horse Camp serves equestrian campers, so expect horse activity in the area. Three Creeks Lake offers excellent fishing from shore, by wading, or by non-motorized boat. The nearby Tam McArthur Trail, accessible from neighboring Driftwood Campground, provides a moderately easy hike with outstanding views of the Three Sisters volcanic peaks. Generator use is prohibited between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights and 28 nights per calendar year. The campground operates seasonally, typically opening in mid-June and closing in late September, depending on snow conditions. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov. Fire restrictions may be imposed during hot, dry conditions. The Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, Metolius-Windigo Trail, and Lava River Cave are all within reasonable driving distance for day trips.
