About
Three Creek Meadow Horse Camp is one of four facilities located near Three Creeks Lake in the Deschutes National Forest and serves as the designated horse camping area for this popular recreation zone. Situated at 6,550 feet elevation on the edge of a large meadow, the campground offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape and nearby alpine lake in a glacial cirque below Tam McArthur Rim. The campground features 9 equestrian sites (sites 012-020), each equipped with 4 corrals, a picnic table, and a campfire ring with grill. The facility can accommodate RVs, trailers, or tent campers, though water and electric hookups are not available. Maximum spur length is 30 feet. This is a no-water facility, so campers must bring their own supply, though livestock water is available for horses. Vault toilets serve the campground. The campground shares its area with the adjacent Three Creeks Meadow Campground, which provides regular camping at sites 001-011. The location provides access to the Three Sisters Wilderness, with wilderness permits required between June 15 and October 15. Weed-free feed is required for all stock on the Deschutes National Forest to prevent the spread of invasive species. The nearby Tam McArthur Trail offers excellent hiking with views of the Three Sisters peaks, and Three Creeks Lake provides non-motorized boating and fishing opportunities. The campground is located 15.2 miles south of Sisters on Forest Road 16.
