About

Whispering Pine Horse Camp is nestled below a thick ponderosa pine forest mixed with birch in the wet areas, providing excellent shade and a peaceful setting for horse enthusiasts. Located approximately 6 miles west of Sisters on the McKenzie Pass Highway, this rustic nine-site equestrian campground offers direct trail access to the Three Sisters Wilderness Area. Each site can accommodate up to four horses and includes stalls where horses must be kept. Tethering, picketing, high-lines, and portable corrals are not permitted. Weed-free feed is required throughout the Deschutes National Forest to reduce invasive species. The campground provides vault toilets and livestock water, but campers must bring their own potable drinking water. This facility is designed specifically for visitors with horses, and the Forest Service asks those without horses to consider nearby alternative camping options. Maximum site spur length is 40 feet.
