About

Taylor Burn Campground was one of the original forest camps in the Willamette National Forest, constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1939 at a cost of $2,804. The campground served visitors to the Waldo Lake area for decades before being decommissioned. Today, the Taylor Burn site functions solely as a trailhead area providing access to hiking trails in the surrounding wilderness, including the Erma Bell Lakes Trail and Williams Lake Trail. No camping facilities, restrooms, or water sources remain at this location. The area is accessed via Forest Road 5898-514 (Taylor Burn Road) off Waldo Lake Road (Forest Road 5897). Visitors seeking developed camping in this region should consider nearby alternatives such as North Waldo Campground.
