Sunrise Campground is located within Richard Bong State Recreation Area, a 4,515-acre park in Kenosha County, Wisconsin. The recreation area was named after Major Richard Bong, America's leading air ace in World War II. The park features rolling terrain with prairies, wetlands, and woodlands, offering opportunities for hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, and hunting. The campground provides both electric and non-electric family campsites with full modern amenities. Facilities include a shower building, flush and vault toilets, a dump station, and a playground area. Firewood is available via 24/7 credit card vending machine at the Molinaro Visitor Center parking lot. ADA-accessible campsites are available, and the park also offers an accessible cabin with specialized features. Reservations are required and can be made up to 11 months in advance online or by phone. Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at 1 p.m. Pets are permitted in the campground but must be kept on a leash. Fires are allowed in fire rings and grills only, using certified firewood or wood sourced from within 10 miles of the park.
