About
Ottawa Lake Campground is the only year-round campground in the Kettle Moraine State Forest Southern Unit, nestled within the scenic Ottawa Lake Recreation Area. The campground features 100 campsites, including 65 electrical sites, making it suitable for both tent campers and RVers. Two shower buildings and flush toilets serve campers during the main season, while winter camping is supported with plowed sites, a heated vault toilet near site 359, and water access from a spigot near site 338. The campground provides excellent access to the 17-acre Ottawa Lake, which offers swimming at a public beach, boating, and fishing opportunities. Walk-in campsites are available for those seeking a more secluded experience, set back 140 to 750 feet from parking areas in the forest. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. The campground also features a sanitary dump station, recycling and garbage facilities, and an accessible cabin specially designed for people with disabilities. Located in the heart of the Kettle Moraine, campers have access to miles of hiking trails, including portions of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, as well as opportunities for birdwatching and exploring the unique glacial landscape. The campground requires advance reservations, which can be made up to 11 months ahead through the Wisconsin State Park system.
