Adeline Jay Geo-Karis Illinois Beach State Park campground occupies the southern unit of this 4,160-acre park spanning 6.5 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline in northeastern Illinois. The campground provides 220 Class A Premium sites, all with electric hookups and access to water hydrants distributed throughout the grounds. Shower buildings with flush toilets serve campers, and a dump station is located at the campground entrance. The park preserves Illinois's only remaining beach ridge shoreline, featuring a unique landscape of dunes, swales, sprawling marshes, and oak forests. Over 650 plant species thrive in this diverse ecosystem. Campers have access to swimming beaches, hiking and biking trails, fishing areas, and Sand Pond with its accessible fishing pier. Reservations are strongly recommended for summer weekends due to high demand and can be made up to 180 days in advance through ExploreMoreIL. The Illinois Beach Resort and Conference Center is also located within the park for those seeking additional lodging options.
