Pinewoods Campground sits within the glacially-carved landscape of Kettle Moraine State Forest's Southern Unit, surrounded by rolling hills, oak-hickory forests, and kettle lakes characteristic of this terminal moraine region. The campground offers 101 sites spread across three loops, with Loop 1 designated as a 24-hour quiet zone where pets, radios, and mechanical device noises are prohibited. Walk-in sites scattered throughout the forest provide more secluded options, set back anywhere from 140 to 750 feet from parking areas. Facilities include flush toilets, vault toilets, hot showers, a playground adjacent to the shower building, and a sanitary dump station. Each site features a fire ring and picnic table. ADA-accessible sites are available with paved paths to restrooms, special family restrooms, paved parking areas, and electrical hookups at those specific sites. The campground's location provides direct access to the Scuppernong hiking trail system, one of the most popular trail networks in the forest. The surrounding area offers mountain biking on the John Muir and Emma Carlin trails, horseback riding, swimming at nearby beach areas, and fishing in the numerous kettle lakes scattered throughout the forest.

From I-94, take Exit 282 (WI-67) south toward Eagle. Continue approximately 6 miles to County Road ZZ. Turn right (west) on County Road ZZ, then turn left (south) on Waterville Road. The campground entrance is on the right at W348 S4695 Waterville Road, Dousman, WI 53118.
