About

Pinewoods Campground sits within the 22,000-acre Kettle Moraine State Forest Southern Unit in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. The campground offers 101 non-electric family campsites distributed across three loops, plus four large group sites that can accommodate up to 40 people each. What sets Pinewoods apart is its Loop 1, a designated 24-hour quiet zone where pets, radios, and mechanical device noises are strictly prohibited, ensuring a peaceful natural experience for those seeking solitude. The campground provides flush toilets, vault toilets, and a shower building with a playground nearby. Sites 1-36 in Loop 1 are designated pet-free, while pets are allowed elsewhere in the campground. Both a sanitary dump station and recycling/garbage facilities serve registered campers. Walk-in sites are also available for those preferring more secluded wooded camping, set back 140 to 750 feet from parking areas. The campground is centrally located within the state forest, providing access to over 100 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and exploring the glacial landscape.
