About

Sunrise Campground occupies a scenic forested setting at 7,800 feet on Bear Lake Summit in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Located 6 miles west of Garden City and Bear Lake, Utah, the campground sits in a mixed-growth conifer and aspen forest that provides partial shade and privacy between sites. Summer wildflowers are abundant throughout the area. The campground offers 24 standard nonelectric sites and 2 yurts, all accessible via paved roads and parking spurs. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Vault toilets and potable drinking water are provided. Visitors should arrive with RV water tanks filled, as hooking up to spigots is prohibited. Bear Lake, known for its striking turquoise color, is just 6 miles away and offers boating, water skiing, jet skiing, swimming, and scuba diving. The family-friendly Limber Pine Trail begins less than half a mile from camp and leads to a 500-year-old limber pine. Bear Lake Summit, one mile away, features picnic tables, interpretive displays, and panoramic views.
