About
Tony Grove Day Use area is located approximately 19 miles east of Logan, Utah, at an elevation of 8,100 feet in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The paved parking facility serves as the primary access point for Tony Grove Lake and the surrounding backcountry trails.
The area offers excellent day-use recreation including a self-guided nature trail that circles Tony Grove Lake, fishing and canoeing on the lake, and access to numerous hiking trails that extend into the Mount Naomi Wilderness. The popular White Pine Lake Trail, a 4.5-mile hike, begins from this location. The area is particularly famous for its vivid wildflower displays, with a colorful profusion of geraniums, paintbrush, columbine, lupine, daisies, and mountain sunflowers blooming from mid-July through mid-August.
The day use area is situated in a forest of Engelmann spruce, white pines, and aspens. Campfires are not allowed in the day use area, and no loading or unloading of livestock is permitted at this paved location. Visitors should be prepared for rapidly changing mountain weather conditions and bring adequate water supplies.
Directions
From Garden City, UT, at the intersection of State Route 30 and US Route 89, take Route 89 south 18.4 miles to the Tony Grove Recreation Area sign. Turn right at the sign, then take an immediate left and travel 6.8 miles to the day use area.
