About
Bear Lake State Park provides diverse camping and recreation opportunities across three main areas along the brilliantly blue waters of Bear Lake. The lake's distinctive aqua-blue color results from calcium carbonate minerals suspended in the water, creating a stunning backdrop for camping, boating, fishing, and beach activities. The Marina area, located at the north end of Garden City, operates year-round and serves as the park headquarters. It features a seven-lane boat launch ramp, a small beach area, 361 seasonal boat slips, and 21 overnight boat slip rentals. The Marina provides year-round access to the lake even when camping areas are closed for winter. Rendezvous Beach, approximately 2 miles northwest from Laketown, is the main camping hub with four campgrounds. Birch Campground offers 57 full-hookup sites (power, water, sewer) ranging from 64 to 105 feet, each with a covered pavilion. Big Creek has 46 full-hookup sites ranging from 44 to 68 feet. Cottonwood is tent-only camping with 21 individual sites and 3 group sites. Willow features 3 group campsites with pavilions and power pedestals. Rendezvous Beach operates from approximately May 1 through October 23. The Eastside areas, accessed via Cisco Road, include several distinct facilities. Cisco Beach is the park's only year-round first-come, first-served campground with 59 beachfront sites and vault toilets. South Eden offers 20 sites with power and water hookups, plus 2 group sites, operating seasonally from May through October. Rainbow Cove is undergoing major construction, currently offering 21 primitive campsites with covered picnic tables and fire rings. Border Campground (formerly North Eden) will feature 35 sites with hookups when construction is complete.
