About
Red Banks Campground is a small, peaceful campground located along the Logan River in Logan Canyon, approximately 23 miles northeast of Logan, Utah. The campground derives its colorful name from the steep red banks of sandstone and conglomerate formations visible across the river. With just 12 single sites, the campground offers an intimate camping experience with aspen and willow trees providing partial shade and heavy grasses and shrubs creating natural privacy between sites.
The Logan River flows gently along the borders of the campground, providing excellent fishing opportunities and scenic beauty. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Vault toilets are available, but campers must bring their own water as there is no potable water on-site. The campground is located at 6,500 feet elevation along the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway.
Recreation opportunities abound in the area, including Trail 051 to the south and hiking in the nearby Tony Grove area. The scenic drive through Logan Canyon offers stunning views year-round. Bear Lake, known as the Caribbean of the Rockies for its turquoise-blue water, is a popular nearby attraction. The campground gates open at 7am and close at 10pm, with quiet hours enforced from 10pm to 6am. Reservations require a minimum 2-night stay on weekends and 3-night stay on holiday weekends.
