Tony Grove Campground

Tony Grove Campground occupies a forested mountainside setting above Tony Grove Lake in the Bear River Range of northern Utah. At 8,100 feet elevation, the campground sits amid Engelmann spruce, white pines, and aspens that provide ample shade for the 32 single sites and 1 double site. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. The campground features a mix of vault and flush toilet facilities but no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Tony Grove Lake lies less than half a mile from the campground and offers fishing for stocked trout along with non-motorized boating opportunities. A self-guided nature trail circles the lake, and numerous hiking trails depart from the day-use area, including access to the Mount Naomi Wilderness. The 4.5-mile White Pine Lake Trail is among the most popular routes. The area is renowned for its summer wildflower displays, with geraniums, paintbrush, columbine, lupine, daisies, and mountain sunflowers covering the meadows from approximately mid-July through mid-August. Bear activity in the area requires proper food storage; fines for improper storage can reach $5,000.

Directions

From Garden City, UT at the intersection of State Route 30 and US Route 89, take Route 89 south 18.4 miles to the Tony Grove Recreation Area sign. Turn right at the sign, then take an immediate left and continue 6.8 miles to the campground on the right.
