Closed — Closed for the season due to snow. The campground typically operates from mid-July through mid-September, with opening dates dependent on snow conditions at this 8,100-foot elevation. The access road is not plowed in winter. Reservations available through Recreation.gov.

About

Tony Grove Campground sits on the mountainside approximately half a mile above Tony Grove Lake, about 19 miles east of Logan, Utah at an elevation of 8,100 feet. The campground features 32 single campsites and 1 double site, some of which are accessible, nestled among Engelmann spruce, white pines, and aspens that provide ample shade. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with a few sites offering partial lake views. Roads and parking spurs are gravel. The area is celebrated for its spectacular wildflower displays. From approximately mid-July through mid-August, a colorful profusion of geraniums, paintbrush, columbine, lupine, daisies, and mountain sunflowers blankets the meadows and campground. Tony Grove Lake, less than half a mile from the campground, offers excellent fishing and canoeing opportunities, with a self-guided nature trail circling the lake. Numerous hiking trails depart from the day-use area at the lake, accessing the Mount Naomi Wilderness. The popular 4.5-mile White Pine Lake Trail begins here as well. The campground provides both vault and flush restroom facilities. Due to the high elevation and significant snow accumulation, the road to Tony Grove is not plowed in winter and typically requires snowmobile or ski approach. The campground operates seasonally, generally from mid-July through mid-September, with exact opening dates depending on snow conditions.

Directions

From Garden City, Utah at the intersection of State Route 30 and US Route 89, take Route 89 south 18.4 miles to the Tony Grove Recreation Area sign. Turn right at the sign, then take an immediate left and continue 6.8 miles to the campground on the right.
