Prohibited by this order: Possessing, storing, or transporting non-pelletized hay, straw, or mulch in the Intermountain Region, unless it is certified as weed free by the state where the product originated.

Updated closure of National Forest System Road 625, and portions of NFSRs 653 and 624 due to safety hazards resulting from the 2024 Lava Fire. These routes are closed to motorized and mechanized travel, but open to foot and livestock use.
Public Safety Occupancy and Use on all Boise National Forest Lands
This Order applies to all National Forest System lands and roads within the Boise National Forest for purposes of public health and safety.
Flat Fire GNA Salvage Road and Trail Closure
The purpose of this Order is to protect public safety during timber operations near the Flat Fire burn area. These will be in effect from June 20 through December 31, 2025.
Lowman Ranger District Dispersed Camping Area Closure
The purpose of this Order is to protect undeveloped campsites along portions of Highway 21 and National Forest System Roads 582 and 524 from overuse and to let highly impacted areas to recover.

This order prohibits motor vehicles on the South Fork Salmon River Road having more than 10,000 lbs on the steering axle and tire width less than nine inches, or more than 300 lbs per inch of tire on all axles, from March 15th through June 1st annually.

Summit Lake Campground is a quiet retreat located a short distance from Warm Lake in the Cascade Ranger District of Boise National Forest. The campground offers just 3 campsites, making it an intimate and peaceful destination. The small but lovely Summit Lake provides a scenic focal point, while Lunch Creek runs alongside the campground and summer wildflowers are abundant throughout the area. The campground is situated in a scenic pine forest that provides partial shade. Nearby Johnson Creek offers excellent fishing opportunities for cutthroat, rainbow, lake, and bull trout. Billy Rice Swim Beach is a short drive toward Warm Lake on the north side, providing a fun spot for afternoon picnics and swimming. The surrounding Warm Lake area offers extensive recreation including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, off-road vehicle riding, and hunting. The WeWuKiye Trail No. 252, accessible at nearby Shoreline Campground, is popular for hiking and mountain biking. Located at 4,800 feet elevation, the campground is accessed via Forest Highway 22 and Forest Service Road 579, approximately 8 miles east of Warm Lake.
Directions
From Cascade, travel north on Highway 55 a short distance to Warm Lake Road (Forest Highway 22). Follow Forest Highway 22 northeast approximately 25 miles. At Warm Lake, the road becomes Forest Service Road 579. Continue east on FS Road 579 for approximately 8 miles to Summit Lake Campground.
