About
Strawberry Bay Long Term Campground is designed for extended stays on the shores of Strawberry Reservoir at 7,200 feet elevation in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Long-term camping requires a minimum 30-day stay with a maximum of the entire summer season. The campground sits among rolling sagebrush-covered hills with small pine trees providing limited shade, while most campsites offer sweeping views of the reservoir and surrounding landscape.
Strawberry Reservoir is renowned for excellent fishing opportunities targeting rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and Kokanee salmon. The campground provides direct beach access for boating, water skiing, and canoeing. Camping fees include access to boat launch facilities, day-use areas, and dump stations around the reservoir. Firewood is available for purchase from the host, and vault toilets and drinking water from spigots are provided throughout the campground.
The area offers extensive recreational opportunities beyond the reservoir. The Strawberry OHV Trail System features 75 miles of trails popular with ATV riders, hikers, and mountain bikers. The nearby Strawberry Visitor Center provides interpretive displays, a working fish trap and egg collection station, and a nature trail. Long-term campers must follow specific rules regarding boat storage, seasonal equipment removal, and campsite modifications.
