About
Renegade Long Term Campground sits on the shore of Strawberry Reservoir at 7,700 feet elevation in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. This specialized campground caters to long-term summer visitors seeking extended stays on one of Utah's premier fishing and boating destinations. The campground is set among rolling sagebrush-covered hills with no trees or shade, offering sweeping views of the reservoir and surrounding hillsides dotted with distant aspen and pine stands.
The campground provides basic amenities including flush toilets, drinking water, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills at each site. Paved roads, a nearby boat launch ramp, fish cleaning station, and garbage service round out the facilities. Long-term camping fees include access to all boat launch facilities, day-use areas, and dump stations around Strawberry Reservoir. The campground requires a minimum 30-day stay and accommodates guests for the entire summer season.
Strawberry Reservoir is renowned for its excellent fishing for rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and Kokanee salmon. The reservoir supports boating, water skiing, and canoeing. Renegade Day Use Area, located 1/4 mile below the campground, provides beach access and a marina. The nearby Strawberry OHV Trail System offers 75 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The Strawberry Visitor Center features interpretive displays, a working fish trap and egg collection station, and a nature trail.
