Renegade Long Term
The campground is currently closed for the season and opens May 22, 2026. Long-term sites require a minimum 30-day stay and can be booked for up to 142 days through October. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov. Senior Pass discounts do not apply to long-term sites.

About
Renegade Long Term campground sits on the shore of Strawberry Reservoir in Utah's Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest at 7,700 feet elevation. This campground caters specifically to extended-stay campers, requiring a minimum 30-day booking and allowing stays up to 142 days covering the entire May through October season. The setting is open sagebrush hills with sweeping reservoir views but no trees or shade. Sites are equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and grills on paved roads. Flush toilets and potable water are available, but there are no electrical hookups, phone service, or showers. Camping fees include access to boat launch facilities, day-use areas, and dump stations around Strawberry Reservoir. The nearby Renegade Day Use Area provides beach access and a marina. Strawberry Reservoir is renowned for excellent fishing (rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, Kokanee salmon), boating, and water skiing. The Strawberry OHV Trail System offers 75 miles of trails for off-highway vehicles, mountain bikers, and hikers. The Strawberry Visitor Center features interpretive displays, a working fish trap and egg collection station, and a nature trail.
