About
Soldier Creek Campground is a large, popular facility on the shore of Strawberry Reservoir in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Situated at 7,200 feet elevation among rolling sagebrush hills with young pines and aspens providing limited shade, the campground offers panoramic views of the reservoir and surrounding valley. Over 150 single and double-family campsites are available across multiple loops, each with a picnic table and fire ring. Loop A offers the most shade from pines and aspens, while Loops B, C, and D sit closer to the reservoir with covered picnic tables and wind screens. The campground has paved roads with camping spurs spaced 50-75 feet apart. Amenities include flush toilets, potable water, and a dump station. A marina adjacent to the campground offers boat rentals, slip rentals, fuel, a general store, and a fish cleaning station. The Soldier Creek Day Use Area with beach access is within a quarter mile. Strawberry Reservoir is renowned for its fishing, with rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and Kokanee salmon available via shore fishing, motorized boat, float tube, or ice fishing. The 75-mile Strawberry OHV Trail System accommodates hikers, mountain bikers, and OHV riders. The Strawberry Visitor Center features interpretive displays, a working fish trap and egg collection station, and a nature trail.
