About
Aspen Grove Campground is situated in a mountainous setting at 7,800 feet elevation near Soldier Creek Dam, above the Soldier Creek section of Strawberry Reservoir in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The campground features two distinct loops: Loop A sits among dense stands of aspen trees offering shade and vibrant fall colors, while Loop B is more open with sagebrush and grasses and no shade but expansive views of the reservoir. The campground includes modern improvements such as paved roads and spurs, cement pads, picnic tables, and fire circles. Visitors enjoy excellent fishing opportunities for rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and Kokanee salmon, along with boating, water skiing, and canoeing on Strawberry Reservoir. The Aspen Grove Day Use Area is located less than a quarter mile below the campground and offers a boat ramp, boat rentals, slips, a fish cleaning station, and a small general store. The 12-mile Strawberry Narrows Trail begins at the day-use area, offering scenic reservoir views and opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The nearby Strawberry OHV Trail System provides 75 miles of trails for off-highway vehicles, as well as additional hiking and mountain biking options. Note that there is no cell phone service at the campground, and site swapping is not permitted.
