Renegade Campground occupies a prime location on the shore of Strawberry Reservoir, one of Utah's premier fishing destinations. At 7,700 feet elevation, the campground is set among open sagebrush-covered hills with panoramic views of the reservoir. The 45 single and double sites lack shade but compensate with direct access to excellent fishing for rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and kokanee salmon. The campground features modern amenities including flush toilets, potable water, paved roads, and garbage service. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Camping fees include use of the boat launch ramp, fish cleaning station, day-use areas, and dump stations located around Strawberry Reservoir. No hookups are available. Beyond fishing, visitors enjoy boating, water skiing, and access to the 75-mile Strawberry OHV Trail System for ATVs, mountain biking, and hiking. The nearby Strawberry Visitor Center offers interpretive displays, a working fish trap, egg collection station, and nature trail. The campground operates seasonally and is located in bear country with strict food storage requirements.

Directions

From Heber City, Utah, take Highway 40 east for 28 miles to Strawberry Bay Junction. Turn right and travel 12 miles to campground.
