About

Stagecoach Horse Camp is a dedicated equestrian campground nestled in the Tillamook State Forest, approximately 23 miles west of Forest Grove and 45 miles west of Portland. The facility offers 10 reservable campsites, each equipped with horse corrals to accommodate riders and their animals. The campground serves as a trailhead for the Historic Hiking Loop, an 8.6 to 11.5-mile trail system that winds through the second-growth forest planted after the historic Tillamook Burn, exploring the summit of the Coast Range. The campground is accessed by turning south off Highway 6 at milepost 33 onto Beaver Dam Road and following signs for 5 miles. While water is available for horses at the corrals, campers should note that potable water for human use is not provided at the sites. The campground operates seasonally and offers a rustic camping experience tailored specifically for equestrian enthusiasts exploring the Tillamook State Forest trail system.
