About
Dovre Recreation Site is the Bureau of Land Management's westernmost campground in the Nestucca River Recreation Area, situated along the newly designated Nestucca Wild and Scenic River. This small, secluded campground offers 10 campsites and a group shelter, providing a peaceful escape deep in Oregon's Coast Range. Each campsite features a picnic table, fire ring, and paved parking area, with two vault toilets and centralized potable water serving the campground. River access points are available from site #6. The campground sits along the Nestucca River National Back Country Byway, a scenic route winding through the Coast Range that's perfect for leisurely drives, motorcycling, or cycling. The Nestucca River is renowned for its fishing opportunities and natural beauty. Nearby attractions include the Upper Nestucca OHV Riding Area with trails at Whipup Flat, Elk Flat, and Grassy Flat. No cell reception is available in the drainage, making it ideal for disconnecting from the electronic age.
