About

Reehers Camp Horse Camp occupies a historic site on the eastern edge of Tillamook State Forest, where hundreds of Civilian Conservation Corps workers lived from 1934 to 1941 while working on the Tillamook Burn recovery. Today, the campground serves both equestrian and traditional campers, with 10 designated horse campsites featuring corrals and 6-7 non-horse sites. The campground is shaded by mature Douglas-fir trees and offers a peaceful forest setting. The facility includes a large trailhead and day-use area with parking for 4-6 horse trailers, a group shelter, and hand-pump potable water. Located along Cochran Road at the 2-mile marker near the town of Timber, the campground provides access to an extensive network of multi-use trails shared with horses and mountain bikers throughout the Tillamook State Forest. Operated by the Oregon Department of Forestry, Reehers Camp requires reservations through ReserveAmerica and charges $20 per night for all sites. The campground typically operates seasonally from mid-May through September, closing during the winter months due to seasonal conditions.
