About
Elk Bend Recreation Site sits along the Nestucca Wild and Scenic River within Oregon's Coast Range, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This small group campground provides 5 individual campsites with a centralized layout, making it ideal for groups of up to 25 people looking to escape into a quiet, remote setting with no cell reception. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring, with shared access to a vault toilet, seasonal potable drinking water, and a paved parking area. ADA-accessible pathways and campsites are available. The campground has no hookups, showers, or dump station. The area offers fishing opportunities on the renowned Nestucca River and access to the Nestucca Off-Highway Vehicle Area nearby. Log trucks may be encountered on the byway year-round. Firewood collection is prohibited, so campers should bring their own.
Directions
From Coastal Hwy 101 at Beaver: Turn right onto Blaine Road and drive 7 miles to reach the Nestucca Byway. From Carlton: Take Meadow Lake Road west 12 miles, then continue onto the Nestucca Byway. Note: No cell reception in the drainage.
