About
Nehalem Falls Campground is a forested tent camping destination perched along the Nehalem River in Oregon's Tillamook State Forest. The campground provides 21 sites: 14 drive-in sites ($20/night), 6 walk-in sites ($15/night), and one reservable group site accommodating up to 24 people ($50/night). Drive-in and walk-in sites operate on a first-come-first-served basis, while the group site can be reserved through ReserveAmerica up to six months in advance. The campground features all essential amenities for rustic camping. Potable water is available from a hand pump well, and two vault toilets serve the campground. Every site includes a picnic table and fire grate. Trash collection is provided, and firewood is available for purchase from the camp host. The campground also has a horseshoe pit and direct river access. A highlight of the campground is the 3/4-mile Nehalem Falls Trail, which loops through a stand of old-growth Sitka spruce and western hemlock. The trail offers views of the river corridor and leads to Nehalem Falls, a scenic low waterfall surrounded by a basalt ledge. The campground operates seasonally from mid-May through September.
Directions
From Wheeler, drive east on State Route 53 for 1.3 miles, turn right (south) on Miami Foley Road and travel 1 mile, then turn left (east) onto Foss Road and continue 7 miles to the campground entrance on the left.
