Spring Mountains Visitor Gateway Group Picnic Sites

Closed — Picnic sites are reservable spring through fall. During winter, rentals are available first-come, first-served at the visitor center desk, which is open 9am to 4pm daily.

The Spring Mountains Visitor Gateway group picnic sites are part of a 128-acre complex that serves as both a destination and gateway to the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area. The two side-by-side picnic sites each accommodate over 40 guests and feature dual charcoal grills, large fire pits, power outlets, lights, and sweeping views of Kyle Canyon. The sites are conveniently located near a visitor center with exhibits and gift shop, two amphitheaters, and access to more than 40 miles of trails including the Pack Rat, Escarpment, and Acastus trails. The complex houses the Silent Heroes of the Cold War National Memorial, the only national monument dedicated to the Cold War era, honoring thousands of individuals who worked covertly for the United States government. The Seven Stones Plaza celebrates the seven Southern Paiute tribes known as Nuwuvi and their ancestral relationship with the Spring Mountains, which they consider their place of creation. Located just 17 miles from Highway 95, the Spring Mountains offers a beautiful island in the desert with diverse flora and fauna, including ancient Bristlecone pines and the rare Mount Charleston blue butterfly.

Directions

From Las Vegas, take U.S. Highway 95 north to the junction with State Route 157/Kyle Canyon Road. Turn left and travel approximately 17 miles to the Spring Mountains Visitor Gateway at 2525 Kyle Canyon Road.
