About

Kyle Canyon Picnic Area is a day-use recreation site located in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Situated approximately 23 miles from Las Vegas, the area provides a forested desert oasis escape from the valley heat at elevations ranging from 3,000 to nearly 12,000 feet at Charleston Peak. The facility contains 25 individual picnic sites along Kyle Canyon wash, each equipped with a picnic table, grill, and fire ring. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided, with paved roads and parking areas throughout. Four sites meet accessibility standards. This is a day-use only facility. No overnight camping is permitted. For overnight camping in the Kyle Canyon area, Fletcher View Campground offers 11 RV sites with electric hookups and is located nearby along Kyle Canyon Road.

Directions

From Las Vegas, take US-95 north to the junction with NV-157 (Kyle Canyon Road). Turn left and travel approximately 18 miles west. The picnic area is on the left side of the highway.
