KYLE CANYON R.V. GROUP CAMPGROUND
Open — Open year-round for day-use on a first-come, first-served basis. The USFS indicates camping may be allowed during summer season, though specific dates are not published.
About
Kyle Canyon Picnic Area is situated in the beautiful Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, approximately 23 miles from Las Vegas along Highway 157. The facility features 25 single and double picnic sites in an open forest setting of ponderosa pine, mountain mahogany, and Gambel oak, with manzanita and wild roses dotting the landscape. A seasonal stream runs through the area, and most sites offer views of the surrounding canyon walls. The Spring Mountains National Recreation Area serves as a forested desert oasis, featuring diverse flora and fauna including ancient Bristlecone pines and the rare Mount Charleston blue butterfly. More than 100 springs create the namesake for this mountain range. The area offers access to over 60 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails, with the 1.6-mile Fletcher Canyon Trail and 1.5-mile Acastus Trail nearby. While official USFS sources indicate that camping is allowed at this facility during the summer season, Recreation.gov primarily lists it as a day-use picnic area. The facility operates year-round on a first-come, first-served basis with four accessible sites available. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, campfire ring, and grill.
Directions
From Las Vegas, travel north on Highway 95 to the junction of Highway 157/Kyle Canyon. Turn left and travel approximately 18 miles. The picnic area is on the left side of the highway.
