About

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is a day-use facility with a reservable group use area for up to 200 people. Despite being listed as a "campground," overnight camping is explicitly prohibited at this park. The group area is designed for large gatherings, weddings, and organized events during daytime hours only. The park preserves a historic working ranch with buildings dating to the 1860s, including a blacksmith shop and the Sandstone Cabin. Notable former owners include German actress Vera Krupp and Howard Hughes. Visitors can take self-guided ranch house tours and explore hiking trails throughout the property. Tree-shaded picnic sites offer tables and grills, though outside charcoal grills and ground fires are prohibited. During fire season, even park grills may be restricted. The park operates on seasonal hours, closing as early as 4:30 p.m. in winter months.
