About

Nestled in Deschutes National Forest, Spring Campground offers some of the most stunning scenery in central Oregon with easy access to abundant recreational activities in the Cascade region. The campground is a favorite among visitors for its widely-spaced sites scattered among mixed conifer forest, giving it an open and sunny character that looks out to the brilliant blue-green water of Crescent Lake. Several tent-only sites are located directly on the lake front. Crescent Lake lies in a naturally glaciated basin behind a moraine dam, east of the towering Cascade Mountain Range. Its exceptional sandy beaches and water temperature make it ideal for swimming, waterskiing, sailing, and windsurfing. Anglers enjoy fishing from boats or the shoreline for kokanee salmon, mackinaw, rainbow trout, brown trout, and mountain whitefish, with summer months offering the best fishing opportunities. The campground includes a boat launch area. The area features flat, large campsites with maximum spur lengths of 40-50 feet. Nearby attractions include wilderness areas, approximately 1,600 miles of trails, the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, Lava Lands Visitor Center, and Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Wildlife in the area includes deer, porcupine, native fish, and migratory birds.
