About

The Crescent Lake Yurts are located within Crescent Lake Campground on the northwestern shore of Crescent Lake at the eastern base of the Cascade mountain range in Deschutes National Forest. Sitting at 4,850 feet elevation within a ponderosa pine stand, visitors enjoy views of Diamond Peak and Cowhorn Mountain. Crescent Lake offers brilliant blue-green water and sandy beaches, making it a popular destination for boating, swimming, fishing, and paddling. Three individual yurt sites are available, each furnished with one bunk bed (double and single mattress), one double futon, table and chairs, and a wood stove for heating. Each yurt site also features an outdoor fire ring and picnic table. Yurts do not have electricity beyond basic lighting and heating. Visitors should be prepared to bring their own linens, cooking utensils, and lighting source. Maximum occupancy is 6 people per yurt. During summer months, potable water is available at campground faucets. Vault toilets serve the campground area. The Fawn Lake Trailhead departs from the campground, providing hiking access into Diamond Peak Wilderness. The Crescent Lake Day Use Area provides boat launch access to the lake.

Directions

From Crescent, travel 12.2 miles west on County Road 61, turn right on Highway 58 and travel 3.5 miles north, then turn left onto Forest Road 60 and travel southwest for 2.6 miles. Turnoff for Crescent Lake Campground and yurts will be on the left. From Oakridge, travel 34 miles east on Highway 58, then turn right onto Forest Road 60 and travel southwest for 2.6 miles.
