About

The Crescent Lake Guard Station, built in the early 1930s, is a one bedroom, one bath historic cabin rental on the eastern shore of Crescent Lake in the Deschutes National Forest. Crescent Lake sits in a naturally glaciated basin behind a moraine dam just east of the summit of the Cascade Mountain Range in northern Klamath County, known for its wooded shorelines, sandy beaches, and brilliant blue-green water. The approximately 670-square-foot guard station sits atop a small hill overlooking the lake in an open ponderosa pine stand. Inside, guests will find a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, and sink, a furnished living room with a couch that folds out to a full bed, an original buffet, a desk, and a gas wood stove heater. The bedroom has a full bed, and the bathroom features a claw foot tub, toilet, and pedestal sink. Outside amenities include a picnic table, fire grill, and horseshoe pit. Hand-pumped drinking water is available on site. The guard station accommodates up to four people with a two-night minimum stay. A boat launch and Crescent Lake Resort are within walking distance, offering food, fishing supplies, and boat rentals. The Diamond Peak Wilderness trail system is accessible nearby. Guests must bring their own linens, bedding, garbage bags, specialized cooking utensils, dish soap, and toiletries. Pets are allowed outside only.
