About

Contorta Point Group Campground is situated on the south shore of Crescent Lake in Deschutes National Forest, nestled in a glacier basin east of the Cascade Mountain Range. The lake features brilliant blue-green water and sandy beaches, providing an ideal backdrop for group camping. The campground offers two group sites that can accommodate either two groups of 40 people or one combined group of 80. The setting is a forest of lodgepole pine with mountain hemlock, fir, and spruce throughout. Crescent Lake is popular for motorized and non-motorized boating, fishing, and swimming. The Summit Lake Trail nearby offers hiking and mountain biking with excellent views of Diamond Peak across the lake. Amenities are minimal at this forest campground. Vault toilets and picnic tables are provided, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. The Contorta Point beach is public-use and not exclusive to campers. Pets are welcome but must be leashed and picked up after. Quiet hours restrict generators from 10 PM to 7 AM.
