Spillway Group Campground sits at 7,500 feet elevation on the Mogollon Rim in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, offering a single reservable group site amid a mixed forest of ponderosa pine, oak, and Douglas fir. The site overlooks scenic Woods Canyon Lake and can accommodate up to 25 people with 6 vehicles. Amenities include a vault toilet, potable water, picnic tables, and campfire grills. Due to site constraints, only tents, trailers, and small motorhomes up to 16 feet are permitted. Woods Canyon Lake provides excellent fishing and boating opportunities with electric trolling motors only. The Woods Canyon Lake Store and Marina is within walking distance, offering groceries, camping supplies, fishing equipment, and watercraft rentals. A scenic loop trail circles the lake, and the Rim Lakes Vista Trail less than a mile away leads to spectacular views of the Mogollon Rim. Free interpretive nature programs are available for groups staying at Spillway Group Site. Programs must be scheduled well ahead of arrival by contacting the forest service. The campground is managed by Advenco LLC during the operating season.

Directions

From Payson, take Highway 260 northeast toward Heber. Turn left onto Forest Road 300 directly across from the Rim Visitor Information Station and follow for 5 miles. The campground is adjacent to Woods Canyon Lake, approximately 5 miles north of State Highway 260 via FR 300 to FR 105. From Heber, take Highway 260 west approximately 25 miles to FR 300.
