About

FR 169 Campground is a dispersed camping area located in Arizona's Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. As a dispersed site, it offers primitive camping with no developed facilities. There are no restrooms, no potable water, and no trash services. Campers must bring all necessary supplies and pack out all waste. The area is open seasonally from May 1 through November, with access typically restricted during winter months due to weather conditions. Standard National Forest dispersed camping rules apply: camp within 300 feet of roadways, at least 100 feet from water sources, and use existing disturbed areas when possible. The maximum stay is 14 days within any 30-day period. Campfires are permitted when no fire restrictions are in effect, though campers should use existing fire rings where available and fully extinguish all fires before leaving. Given the high fire danger often present in Arizona's forests, campers should check current fire restrictions before arrival. The nearest ranger district office can provide current conditions and any active closures.
