Mogollon Campground is located in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, positioned just outside the Woods Canyon Recreation Area and approximately two miles from Woods Canyon Lake. The campground is one of the closest to the Mogollon Rim, offering spectacular views for those seeking scenic mountain camping. Surrounded by ponderosa pines, the campground sits along a gravel loop road off Forest Road 300, about five miles from Highway 260. The campground features 26 sites divided into two loops of 13 sites each. All sites are parallel parking and provide approximately 40 feet of parking space, accommodating tents, pop-up campers, and small trailers or motorhomes. Sites 14 through 26 are available for advance reservation, while sites 1-13 are first-come, first-served. Each campsite includes a campfire ring, grill, and picnic table. The campground provides accessible vault toilets, drinking water, and trash service, with a camp host available during the operating season. Recreation opportunities center around nearby Woods Canyon Lake, located approximately two miles away via Forest Road 105. The lake offers excellent fishing and boating, with only electric boat motors permitted. The Marina Store at Woods Canyon Lake provides groceries, fishing licenses and equipment, and boat and kayak rentals. The campground's proximity to the Mogollon Rim makes it ideal for visitors seeking scenic views and day hiking opportunities.

Directions

Located on Forest Road 300 approximately 5 miles off of Highway 260. The campground is accessed via a gravel road off FR 300, just past the Woods Canyon Lake turn-off.
