About

Southwick Beach State Park is a spacious, popular facility on the Lake Ontario shore in Jefferson County, known for outstanding swimming and sunning on its long, sandy beach. Located off Route 3 southwest of Watertown in the Thousand Islands region, the park provides easy access to both beach recreation and wildlife viewing at the adjacent Lakeview Wildlife Management Area. The 112-site campground accommodates both tents and RVs up to 40 feet, with sites featuring picnic tables and grills. Modern restrooms with showers are available, along with a dump station for RVs. A food concession operates during the season, and the park includes nature trails, hiking paths, playgrounds, and playing fields for volleyball and basketball. The beach is lifeguarded from late June through early September. Winter visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Three event pavilions are available for group reservations. Pets are welcome in camping areas with a maximum of two per site, though they are not permitted on the beach or playground areas.
