Robert G. Wehle State Park preserves the former estate of Robert G. Wehle along the dramatic bluffs of eastern Lake Ontario. The 1,100-acre property includes over 17,000 feet of undeveloped shoreline and cliff-top views. Unlike traditional campgrounds, overnight stays here are limited to two rental units: the Cottage Compound and a separate Cabin. The Cottage Compound sleeps up to 8 guests across the main house and guest cottage. The main house features two bedrooms with private baths, a living room with fireplace, sun porch, and fully equipped kitchen with laundry. The guest cottage adds two more bedrooms with baths and a kitchenette. An adjacent artist's studio serves as a recreation room. Weekly rentals run $2,500 during the May through October season. The park's 10+ miles of multi-use trails wind through forests and meadows to overlooks above Lake Ontario. Additional amenities include a tennis court, disc golf course, and designated picnic areas. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are available in winter. The cliff-side setting is spectacular but may not be suitable for families with young children.

Directions

From Syracuse, take I-81 North to Exit 41. Follow Route 178 west to the intersection with Route 3, then continue straight onto Military Road for approximately 5 miles. The park entrance is on the left.
