About
Long Point State Park occupies a small peninsula on Lake Ontario's Chaumont Bay in the Thousand Islands region, offering a peaceful and remote camping experience with water views from nearly anywhere in the park. The campground features 74 grass-covered sites with scattered trees, designed to accommodate tents and RVs up to 40 feet in length. Situated in a location almost completely surrounded by water, the park provides a protected harbor for boats with a public boat launch and overnight dockage available during the camping season. Lake Ontario and Chaumont Bay offer excellent boating and fishing opportunities, making this a popular destination for water enthusiasts. Constant lake breezes help keep the park cool and mosquito-free during summer months. The park includes modern amenities such as showers, a laundry facility, playground, picnic pavilion, and a dump station. Waterfowl hunting is permitted in season by permit only at established blinds. The park does not have a camp store, but firewood and ice are available for purchase. Nearby attractions include Grass Point, Southwick Beach, Westcott Beach, and Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site.
