About
Long Point State Park sits on a narrow peninsula extending into Chaumont Bay on Lake Ontario in Jefferson County. The remote setting offers a quiet camping experience away from crowds, with 74 campsites spread across multiple loops. Sites are fairly open and grass-covered with scattered trees providing partial shade. Select sites feature 30-amp electric hookups, while all campers have access to modern bathhouses with showers and a laundromat. The park's location almost completely surrounded by water makes it particularly attractive to boaters and anglers. A boat launch provides access to both the protected bay and Lake Ontario's excellent fishing waters. Overnight dockage is available with a two-week maximum. Beyond water activities, the park offers a playground, volleyball and basketball facilities, picnic areas, and biking opportunities. Reservations can be made up to 9 months in advance through ReserveAmerica, with some sites available first-come-first-served. A 14-night maximum stay applies during peak season from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
